Pink fundraising tea
A week before the walk, we held a "pink tea" with some of the women in my mom's neighborhood. How much pink breakfast food is there? Mom was on a quest to find out!
More pink tea
We ended up using the centerpieces from Katelyn's wedding (the day before) for our tea. Handy!
Time to go pink
Friday afternoon, it was time to go pink. I dyed Colin's beard and he put streaks in my hair. Bonding time, anyone?
Pink beard
Colin's pink beard... you can sort of see the pink in this picture, but it didn't turn out quite as bright as we'd hoped it would.
Our amazing donors
We walked with our donors' names on our packs--each of those ribbons has a donor's name on it.
Up the hill
Coming up the hill overlooking Memorial Drive after leaving the pit stop across from Prince's Island Park.
Pit Stop
The first pit stop, across Memorial from Prince's Island Park. You can see people coming into the rest stop, as well as the stop itself, and people leaving.
Cheering section!
Carl, Dad, Esther, and Uncle Joel came to cheer us on in Confederation Park.
Mom's walking buddy
Marylyn, Dad's cousin's wife, walked with Mom for a good part of Saturday--we walked too fast for Mom, and Marylyn's team walked too fast for her, so the two of them walked together and enjoyed the time to chat.
Tom Baker Cancer Centre
There's always a great reception at the Tom Baker, where staff and even some patients come out to greet us with a brass quartet, bubbles, a huge signed banner, and many thanks.
Mom in the medical tent (again)
Mom ended up in the medical tent for the second year in a row, despite doing her best to make sure she stayed hydrated and kept her electrolytes up! This seems to be becoming a tradition...
