Femmy Ten Toile - Armscye

size: 376x600, 197k

I'm not happy with how that armscye is bagging in back, but I honestly don't know if that's wearing ease being shown in an unflattering light because of the muslin, or what.

Side view, with Barbarella in the background

When I talk about Barbarella, now you know. She's on the left, darlings. This is a 3/4 view of the toile for the Femmy10 bolero - no sleeves, as yet, obviously. The folded-to-the-desirable-shape lapel is in the fore.

Close up view of lapels

On your left is the lapels as cut with the pattern - very, y'know, trendy and such. On the right, I've folded them (not yet cut) into a more preferable shape. Sorry for the fuzziness, but the room was dark and the camera was quite close. Seeing that crumpling around the armscye, I'm wondering if it's cut a bit big through there, but I'm not sure how to alter that without making it too tight across the back...

I'm Not Obessive!

size: 626x600, 357k

It's not like adding a pleat to the center back is *difficult*... I should have make it deeper, I know, but I only had so much muslin, so I settled on what I've done there, for now. Fabric permitting, the final might be a bit more substantial but, really, the joke is made, right? Right?

Another View of the Lapels - Contrast Placed Behind The Lapels

size: 445x600, 251k

On your right, the lapels as described by the pattern (my wonky sewing hand notwithstanding). On your left, I've folded the lapel to a more desirable shape. The line you see drawn is to remind me where the seam allowance would go, vs the cutting line, as I'm kinda forgetful like that...

Exercises in Stripe Matching Hell, #1

size: 555x900, 375k

So, guess who discovered that the stripes are not woven in a truly regular manner into the fabric? it varies from 1/2" to 9/16ths. Just enough to drive me mad, MAD!

But the actual matching there... heck, could have been worse for my first attempt.

assembled outer shell - 1

size: 410x615, 208k

I cranked up the brightness a tad on the picture, to bring up details. The yellow/white blobs are, obviously, pins holding the thing in place, as I haven't got the closure in, yet.

assembled outer shell - 2

size: 1058x533, 371k

Same pic, 2 views. The one on the right has the brightness cranked WAY up, as I couldn't use the flash and I want to s hare the pinstripe madness. Yes, the bust is gaping a bit at top, 'cause I fill a corset rather differently than my mannequin. I've no worries about it fitting, though.

Yes, Really. Those Are The Shoes.

Blame <lj user="iamradar"> - she's the one who found them on Amazon.com ;)

Corset and skirt, complete

size: 509x800, 454k

A thousand pardons for the flash (and the crummy kitchen). The skirt looks better on Barbarella than it does on me, but she doesn't do the corset justice. ;)

Three Monkeys

Yes, I know I need to crop the other photographer's arm out of the photo... ;)

How YOU doin'?

size: 333x500, 130k

One of the better pictures ever taken of me in my entire life, I think... ;)

Obligatory "playing with the screwdriver" pose. ;)

Strike A Pose

I was asked for a "more serious" pose, so there you go. (I think I look huge, alas)

The Gang's All Here!

Incidentally, the Dalek was made by the chap on the left. :)
