Wee bugger was just outside the front door around 4 AM, June 23. The arrival of Summer has now officially been announced.

Walnut Sphinx Moth (28/09/05)
This sphinx moth was hanging out on the wall just outside the front door one evening. The left wing appeared to have taken some damage, which is why there's that odd red blotch there.
I spent a couple of hours on the 'Net trying to figure out the exact _type_ of sphinx moth this critter is, and as near as I can tell, it's probably a young Walnut Sphinx.
