Here's what will be going into the rack, via direct bolt-in the rails (Unless noted):
Clock-wise top right:
Kustom power conditioner with lights.

Korg DDD-1 drum machine/sound module (will be on bottom of rack for time being)

Slide-out shelf where some stompboxes will reside in place of the current Boss BX-8 stereo mixer, that will be removed to be a tabletop unit again.

Oberheim Matrix-1000 (a.k.a.: Obie Matrix-1k) analog synth.

ProCo PM-148 unbalanced audio patchbay.

(Side by side on one shelf) Korg 05R/W wavetable tone generator, Boss SE-50 multi-fx.

Alesis Data-Disk (oops, upside down!) librarian/sequence recorder-playback. Will be included for now, may be replaced with some other tone mod or fx unit down the line.

Cooper Electronics MSB+ Rev.2 MIDI patchbay.

Channel Module (typical)

Yup, nothing real fancy about a patchbay: just four jacks per card with a 4-postion slide switch to determine how the card is going to work:

Open: The position I'll be using on the stompboxes that'll be on the slide-out shelf. The jacks on your right are actually the backside of the P-bay itself. They will have ordinary cables going from the top-right jack, feeding signal to a fx box, while the bottom-right will return the altered signal to it's partner to the lower left. If I need to use the pedal, I'll just use a patch cable from the originating source, and plug it into the top-left jack, and then use another cable to feed from the lower-left to go elsewhere.
Did that make sense?

Normal (won't be using):Some use this to divert a signal from its intended path, but in doing so the signal is shunted entirely unless a return line is used, or something else is plugged into the lower-left jack.

H Normal (or Half-Normal): I'll be using this mode instead. The source signal won't be shunted as in "normaled", but will branch off, like I'm using a Y-cable, unless I plug something into the lower-left jack.

Parallel (won't be using): Sends signal to as many destinations as the card will handle. Won't return anything back to path.
