wall in parking lot
the parking attendent figured i owed him about a dollar. i handed him a 20. he said, ah, go ahead and pay me later... unless you want 19 ones. i took the ones, so i could tell the story later.
boy on stilts
public art around town - i sat on a bench underneath the boy - this is shot sorta 75% up.
bench art
one of many benches around town for strolling & resting. a nice looking older man giggled with me over my phone conversation here.
buckminster fuller
buckminster fuller (who invented, among other things, the biodome/tensegrity structure concept) keeps coming up. this was a design institute window, which i think is fabulous - conscious design and stuff. also, i am in this photo.
practically san francisco
this church and hill reminded me of san francisco, so i took a photo while i waited for my light.
cat climbing a streetlight
a cat sculpture in front of the "woof!" portion of the mural. there are 2 other cats without detail photos.
snake
she was really really excited about holding the snake. almost as excited as i was about my turtle.
bear!
okay, so it's a sucky picture... but this adorable black bear kept pacing around this door - like, this is obviously a door someone comes through with food or other interesting stuff. and finally the bear just got bored and tired of waiting and sat down. very cute, but very hard to get a decent angle on - this is taken through the protective fence several feet above the bear enclosure.
omg wolf!
we waited for the wolf to appear around its enclosure, and no wolf. so we walk off to whatever's next. and when we turn around, there's a wolf! walking right towards us! yay!
no, she didn't?
oh, yes she did. student troupe doing a missy elliott number at pura show. they were all blonde and mostly wee. lovely people, poor choreography choices.
whirling dervish?
in pink, too! this woman struck me as interesting if nothing else.
pretty dancer
one of baraka mundi's students; she just had a lovely quality to her dance & is flat-out beautiful too
the crazy brothers
i'm sure this number is the reason i dreamt later about drawing a card in Quelf that ordered you to wrap your head in a towel and, whenever looked at, say "this is a racist stereotype".
swing fusion!
i want to marry this dance troupe. they're from lawrenceville, georgia, too! it's a tiny place! also, they include a very small amount of actual diversity. yay, them!
um, fosse fusion?
this piece was fun - not exactly bellydance, but good good times.
