Mina Doll - Turquoise embroidered

Mina Doll - Turquoise embroidered
Here are the pictures; if you look carefully you'll see the following:

- The leaves are indeed embroidered. The programming of this computer embroidery alone took two days, because it's incredibly difficult to program something that's so small and which should still look as if there was something.
The leaves are embroidered in three different colors, of which one is a colorchanging thread - giving each leaf an individual look.

- The gown is made of *very* fine silk dupioni. Not taffeta, as I could not find the right color... but very fine dupioni, which barely has any of the typical 'nubs' at all.

- The pleating on the skirt is hand ironed. Each pleat is less than 1/2 cm (or 1/8 inch) small; I burned my hands several times when I ironed those.

- The pattern of the gown is acutally just a slightly modified pattern from Janet Arnold's "Patterns of Fashion" - if I had to guess, I would say that Eiko Ishioka used the same pattern for the original gown.

- The buttons at the front actually close with *button loops* - of tiny rubber band, though. Each button is about 2.5mm small - that's about 1/16 inch.

- At the sides, if you look carefully, you'll notice two 'silver beads' at the edge between bodice and skirt - those are pinheads; the skirt does not yet have a closure yet so I had to pin it to the bodice.
