c. 1370-1385 - "The Dream of Life"
A fresco by Orcagna, this is a copy made for the library of Marcel le Didot in 1890. Might be a copy of that copy; details on whether this is a color plate or not were sketchy.
Men on far left and right (man playing Viol) are wearing brightly patterned clothing. Noted for fabrics and necklines.

1380-85 - Triumph of the Cross

Interesting for the varying men's clothing- Christ's _camisa_, the youth holding his over-robe on his arm while he holds his horse, the man next to him wearing his over-robe, which has a side-slit.
Deathbed, late 1300's
Plate by Giulio Ferrario for a costume book published in the 1800's. The two young men on the left are Florentine, according to Ferrario, and the two men in long gowns are Doctors.

1400 - ‘Maestro dell’Osservanza’, detail of a page
Note this detail of a young man, presumably a page, in a sumptious brocade robe and close-fitting undersleeves. Note that the shorter sleeves of the over-robe look as though they might be rolled up, as the pattern appears to be the obverse of the brocade of the overobe.

1400 - ‘Maestro dell’Osservanza’, Natività della Vergine - detail of another youth
Note that this young boy also has a over-cote with wide cuffs (rolled up? Other detail looks as if what we are seeing is the reverse of the brocade) and close-fitting under-sleeves.
