Knitted Robot #1
Knitted robot in black, grey and white Icelandic wool, October 2005. This was my first attempt at designing and knitting a robot.
Pink spiral scarf Dec 2005
The pink is merino/acrylic/nylong Filatura de Crossa "Love" in color 6, the eyelash is SRK "Molash", mohair, poly, wool and nylon in raspberry-blue-black (color 1001), from Piglet in the yarn stash exchange of 2004. This took about 4 hours of boring garter stitch; the spiral is created by knitting into the back and front of each stitch every 5th row.
Blue-green-gold checkerboard scarf and stockinette hat Dec 2005
This is Landscapes in colorway Yellowstone, a thick-and-thin bulky wool hand painted by Shelly Whitman of Butternut Woolens. I really enjoy knitting checkerboard!
Sumo Robot #1 (July 2006)
Greenish black is Esprit (100% poly eyelash, color 0993), orange is Goa (50% cotton, 50% poly). Body knit in round, flat-knit shoulder/arms sewn on; orange underbelly picked up stitches and knit on DPNs; legs knit on DPNS then sewn on.
Knitted Robot #2 (July 2006)
Made as a gift. Medium green and red Debbie Blish cashmerino astrakhan (wool, microfiber and cashmere). I don't like this yarn, it's difficult to knit with and even harder to sew with.
Knitted Robot #4 (October 2006)
Red Debbie Bliss "cashmerino astrakhan" (60% Merino, 30% microfiber, 10% cashmere) and some dark green hand-spun wool with bits of red in it. First antenna on one of my robots.
Knitted Robot #3 (July-August 2006)
Knitted as a gift. Jamieson's Shetland Spindrift wool in bracken and green, on 3.5 mm needles.
Baby blanket for grandson April 2007
Black cotton/modal (from Knit Picks) with a border on 2 sides of Colinette Chrysalis in the Veniezia colorway (black, purple, blue and green).
Hot pink fingerless mitts--my first cables! April 2007
Lana Grossa "Cool Wool" color 672; pattern is Lamb's Ear Designs' "Cozy Cabled Mitts" by Roxi Willoughby. Note the pattern calls for one ball, but I ran short by about 15 rows of ribbing.
Knitted Robot #5 April 2007
Icelandic wool in grey, black, and off-white. Techniques include knitted in the round, felting, embroidery, picked-up stitches for the arms, and shaping with increases and decreases.
