Wally as hood ornament
This is our vehicle right before we left. I rode inside - not on the front.
Keno Master
I attempt to master the game of chance known as Keno. Sadly my card did not win.
An old friend
I was surprised to find this temple of Neptune on the edge of the desert. My companions and I enjoyed a few moments of contemplation before heading on our way.
Neptune again
Bax and I visit the fountain of Neptune. Oddly, he seems to have a thriving cult in the desert.
Wally Mart?
Apparently over the last two millennia my name has grown until every shopper in America recognizes me. Curious.
Sunscreen
We wear a lot of this. I'm used to being inside and one of my companions is quite fair. I try to help by keeping track of the bottle.
Taking the waters
We decided to take advantage of the hotel pool. I didn't get in the spa, but I did enjoy wading on the step for a few minutes. Swimming in the desert - what a country!
Helper
My companions availed themselves of the buffet at the Temple of Neon and Food. I volunteered to stay back and watch our possessions.
Predictions
I contemplate the 8 of Swords while our flat wheel gets repaired. The workmen were quick and charged an extremely fair rate, I was told.
Wheel check
The workman checking our wheel. Apparently they go flat if you drive over something sharp. This seems like an inefficient system, but it is certainly more comfortable than wagon or camel.
I Visit the Temple
We stopped in the city of the Great Salt Lake to view their temple. The followers were very friendly and polite. I found their temple to be most impressive, but couldn't find out why they had carved stars, moons and suns into the wall. We couldn't find any priests to confer with, so I'll have to do my research at home.
The Angel
Myself (slightly out of focus) and the angel on top of the Temple. I need to see about adding something similar to the roof of the Bee.
I visit Jerusalem
I was able to relive my youth while gazing over a large monument of Jerusalem circa 0 CE. That's me in the bottom right corner. It was larger in real life.
Fountain
There were several lovely fountains scattered around the grounds with seemingly no regard for their direction. This one was on the south side. A little sign said all the water used was reclaimed - which is nice. Kady and I enjoy the view.
Me and Joseph Smith
Joseph Smith striding forward. He seemed like a nice enough gent, a little too orthodox for my taste and somewhat confused on the role of women in the church. I understand he's dead now.
Bax drives
Bax drives us ever eastward. Here we are leaving the city of the Great Salt Lake and heading across the territory of Utah.
