Puli is in Nantou County, in the middle of Taiwan. Most of my father's side of the family still lives there.

Taipei, Taipei 101
Opening weekend of the shopping mall at the base of Taipei 101. Taipei 101 is currently the world's tallest building.
Taipei, Presidential Election 2004
In 西門町 (Hsimenting) for the 2004 Taiwanese presidential elections. Giant, public television screens and a crowd of nervous voters made for a tense and lively atmosphere. The day before the elections, incumbent Chen Shui-bian and VP Annette Lu survived an assassination attempt.
Taipei, Post-Election KMT Protest
After the election, 500,000 members of the losing Pan-blue parties protested the results of the "unfair" election. Incumbent Chen Shui-Bian (of the DPP) won by about 20,000 votes. Pan-Blue supporters believed the election was unfairly skewed by the suspicious assassination attempt on the president.
